Parijat
AFNA supported Parijat Academy in its early years, enabling SIPA internships and projects like solar lamp distribution and Soles for Tots. Through the Support a Child program, AFNA funds teacher salaries, books, and supplies.
Parijat Academy is a school for underprivileged children near Garbhanga (near Guwahati) which serves children of stone quarry workers and others without access to quality education.
There are 20+ teachers and 500+ children studying from Nursery to class 10 providing free education. Mostly the children are from tribal community where education awareness is not prevalant. Parijat Trust is encouraging the local villagers to send their young children to school so that they can learn value education. The school is running with limited resources.
