Kalyani Niwas, a Guwahati-based shelter for abandoned and destitute children and young girls, provides safe housing, education, and livelihood support.
AFNA has been instrumental in fulfilling all health and medical needs for the children at the home throughout the year that includes hiring a part time doctor for regular tests and checkups, covering for hospital visits and treatments, laboratory test fees, medicines and expenditure for hygiene kits and toiletries.
AFNA supports the home support the home in terms of health and nutrition through improved food diet plans, providing medical instruments for general in-house tests and for special need children, and providing hygiene kits specific to the impacts from COVID - 19 and other illnesses.
For Ashaneer, AFNA provides the necessary funds for a part time Physiotherapist with respect to disabled children with MR, Cerebral Palsy and locomotor deficiency, medicine for girls suffering from epilepsy and neuromuscular disease (5 children), medicines for bedridden girls (cerebral palsy, Autism etc.), cost of sanitary products (primarily diapers) and nutritious food.
