Dhanjit Barman (7) of Ramsa Hills Kharghuli Guwahati is in 4th Grade. He is very good at studies and is just as talented in music. Dhanjit aspires to be a good musician when he grows up. However his parents are currently facing financial hardships which are making it increasingly difficult to

Madol Agasthi (9), a resident of Kharghuli Guwahati, is a very bright student and is currently in 5th grade. Of his many hobbies, the ones he likes the best are recitation, debating and the arts. Madol habors the hope of pursing higher education and being a technical

professional. However some of those hopes have gathered dust since his family is currently facing extreme economic hardships which are making it harder for them to support his endeavor in education.

Kaushik Das (8), bright young kid from Kharghuli Guwahati studying in 3rd grade.A versatile child, Kaushik is also good sportsman and has great interest in the arts and music. Kaushik’s parents are very poor and have a transient life due to the lack of a permanent house. For Kaushik to

be able to realize his full potential, the family needs monetary and material support so that they can lead a more stable life and Kaushik can follow his finish his school education without obstacles. Both Kaushik and his parents are hopeful there will an alternative where Kaushik can continue to be child he is and live his dreams.

Bishal Acharjee (4), for him the future seemed bleak after the tragic death of his father Sujit Acharjee in the serial blasts that rocked Guwahati last year. Sujit was the sole bread earner of his family and after his death, his wife Rita is struggling to give their son a proper education. Bishal’s bright eyes and his

sunny disposition speak of untapped talent- something that Rita hopes will not be wasted and destroyed by the cruelty of her fate. Although overwhelmed by her tragedy, Rita is hopeful that a good Samaritan will turn up and lead her out of the darkness to a more meaningful existence.

Mritunjay Kalita (6) is a child wiith mischievous eyes and a bright smile. Right now he is unaware thatfor no fault of his, he has been served an uneven hand at the very beginning of his life. His father deserted is mother even before he was born. His mother knows the value of

education and she wants to give her son the best possible education. She works as a part-time maid in 2 -3 households. She lives in a one-room shanty house, paying a rent of Rs.750 per month. She is interested to send her son to a boarding school since Mritunjay is starting to be involved with undesirable company when his mother goes to work. Support Mritunjay

Bhabani (9) recently enrolled in the Parijat Academy. Her parents earn their livelihood through Jhum Culitivation (Shifting cultivation) in jungle which requires constant movement from place to place and adds struggle to their already transient. According to her age she would

has been enrolled in Class III but due to academic unpreparedness and difficulty understanding the medium of instruction (Assamese), she was enrolled in Class I. Now, with the help of the Academy and the a few dedicated individuals in the they have made huge strides in academics. Within a span of two years they have gained enough academic competence where the teachers feel confident that she will be successful in Class V!! Support Bhabani
